… giving orders to heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. Daniel 3:19
So much courage from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego by demonstrating that it did not matter to them that they were cast into the furnace of fire for not worshipping the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. They were determined to face whatever the punishment, but never to deny their God.
They had such a great conviction of God that they said to the king that their God would deliver them from the furnace of fire and also from his hands. This made the king be filled with anger and command the furnace to be heated seven times more. He ordered that they strap them and throw them into the furnace, expecting the fire to consume them soon and end their lives. But, to his surprise, the fire neither consumed them nor were their garments touched because the God whom they served, He delivered them from death.
Hence, no matter the pressure the enemy is putting on us not to honor God but bow before him, let us resist his threats. Although the fire has been increased to destroy us, our God will save us and none of us will be touched by evil.
