Correction and discipline, both are necessary
Chasten thy son while there is hope. Proverbs 19:18
Unfortunately, many parents do not know the responsibility they have before the Lord regarding the education of their children. Parents must take on the commitment of shaping them physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Many trust their money to satisfy the needs of their children and please their wishes and tastes, without guarding spiritual and emotional development. Our children need correction and discipline; both are necessary for their education, without neglecting to afford them love, tenderness, support and security.
The Word tells us that it is necessary to discipline while there is hope. This teaches us that there will be a time when we will not be able to do it; for the child will grow, turn into a youngster and then into an adult. Parents who really love their children will establish principles and limits. They will educate them according to the Word, which will help them tell the difference between good and evil.
It is time to right our wrongs, and present ourselves before God with our weaknesses. Let us acknowledge that we have neglected what is fundamental, educating our children for them to be the men and women that God is expecting for tomorrow.
