And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. 1 John 2:17
Knowing the will of God for our lives is of the essence, for we are making sure that the way we walk is the real one.
Man gives no importance to this, so he lives according to his will, which is united to his desires, his passions, moved by the world, his flesh and darkness. These make us believe that we are doing the right thing. Thus, they cause us to perish on the way.
The will of God is good, pleasing and perfect. He grants us what is good for us, where nothing needs to be added or subtracted because it is perfect already.
Living without doing his will means living without Christ, for He, himself, is our will, which leads us to submit to it out of unconditional love and obedience. Thus, it ensures our abidance in Him forever.
