Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds. Colossians 3:9
So easily we do lie. We do not have to think to do it; it is something so spontaneous that it surprises everyone, except Jesus, because He knows the depths of our thoughts. That is why Jesus let Peter know it before He lied and, even though He had heard from Jesus’ lips that he would deny Him before the rooster sang, it came so natural that he denied Him three times and did not even notice.
Likewise, we lie. We make a habit of this; we stop telling the truth for a lie, since it makes us look good in front of others and we avoid being confronted in view of the inappropriate.
But all lie will be uncovered and brought to light by the Father who is in the heavens, who hates it. He gave us the Holy Spirit, who testifies to this and exposes it in front of others. If we have received Christ as our Lord, knowing for a fact that we have been stripped of the old man, let us stop telling lies and proclaim the truth.
