Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life. James 1:12
It is so hard for us to resist temptation and break away from everything that leads us to sin. It is something so strong that it drags us, without realizing it. When we come to see, we have already fallen.
Sometimes we ask ourselves “What happened? If I did not want to do it, why did I? Then we promise not to do it again. But those words are said in vain, for after a short while that which we promised is left in the past. This shows that our will is very weak; it is conditioned to our desires and appetites of the flesh. That is why we act deliberately when we see or hear something we like.
God commands us to resist the trial by fire of that which we like but is not helpful to us, for the one who makes it will receive the crown of life, which is the salvation of our soul. The enemy fights against it each second, so we lose what He already won for us.
