The Lord appeared to him from afar, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness. Jeremiah 31:3
Such great pain we do feel when someone next to us, who we think loves us, forsakes us with no care for our feelings and the time spent together. Those moments are indescribable; only someone who has lived through it knows what it is like. We feel that everything built for years, months, weeks, it crumbles in seconds. We start making conjectures and ask ourselves “Why?”, “How come I did not realize it?”, “When did it happen?”, “Was I ever important?” Each one of those leaves us with more questions, for it turns out to be inexplicable that a relationship which seemed to be sincere was so easily destroyed.
But we cannot forget that we have a body, a soul and a spirit, which are heavily attacked by external conditions that surround us, as well as the enemy, who wants to wage war, a powerful one, against us until he can submit us to his will. This should alert us not to trust promises made by lips of men, which are blown by the passing wind. On the contrary, we should believe the Word of God, in which there is no change like shifting shadows. That way, we will never be disappointed because everything written will be fulfilled, for He promised us eternal love and never to forsake us.
