You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. Romans 14:10
If man could see us the way God does, criticism would not exist; it would completely disappear from us. That way we would stop making others hurt and causing so much pain, unnecessarily; for, when we raise our voice in judgement, this causes a series of subsequent events, which will be impossible to control if we do not stop it.
Criticism is the result of our own notion, which we consider to be right. This causes us to give free rein to our thoughts with no consideration for the spiritual and emotional damage it causes. Sometimes we are intolerant to the actions of others, thus we reveal ourselves in such a way that we cause damage, by judging what they do. We must know that criticism is not good, so, if we have the heart of God, how can we act that way? This shows that few know Him for, when we do, we change our attitude towards others.
Criticism gets us to no good, but it causes evil to spread and originates the breakage of friendship ties, marriage unity and family relationships. Before we criticize, let us remember that we will all stand before God’s judgement seat. It would be such a shame to see that someone we criticized so much looks better than us to God’s eyes. If you talk, do it so you edify and not destroy, for we are bearers of blessings, not curses.
