Each of you is now a new person. You are becoming more and more like your Creator, and you will understand him better. Colossians 3:10
What we learned before coming to the feet of Christ can be a stumbling block to our spiritual life, for it is so deep-rooted that we do not we realize when we do things, not led by the spirit but by us. We act automatically in response to what is recorded in our subconscious, our subconsciousness.
Because of this, we see people who have been Christians for years and still continue to act like people in the world, not bearing witness of change and transformation. That is why Jesus called us, not only to salvation but conversion. This is more profound. It involves decision, dedication and perseverance; for it means pulling out everything that is in our mind and planting the Word, which will guide us to a new life.
The Gospel of Christ has to transform us, and we must set our mind to it above all things. So, what do we do by saying “We are of Christ”, if we continue with the same mind full of thoughts and beliefs of men which do not allow us to grow. Let us seek conversion, which makes us be different and resemble God more.
