But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Matthew 5:44
Loving the one who harms us is an ordinance from the Lord, but our heart has to be healed, free from all rancor and all past. This will allow the Holy Spirit to fill us with the love of Christ so we can see our enemies the way Jesus sees them.
Jesus sees them with mercy and compassion, looking at what moves through them, which makes them prisoners of evil. Therefore, we should not take it out on them, but ask for them to be free and the yoke that has them in that condition to be broken.
Let us give love and demonstrate it by praying for those who have risen against us, making our life impossible and difficult; for the greatest force that weakens evil is love.
