Never doubt about doing what God asks you

Never doubt about doing what God asks you

Then the angel of the LORD told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” Genesis 16:9
It is hard when we have to turn back on the decisions we made and go back to the starting point. This often happens because we made most of them without asking God. We base them on our wish to end the situation that overwhelms us and, when we cannot bear with it anymore, we decide to put an end without knowing if it is the will of God. Despair makes us take the wrong way.
At those moments, the last thing we want to hear is that we are wrong, for we trusted we were doing the right thing. When we hear otherwise, it makes us see we did not act right and it fills us with shame. Yet it is better to acknowledge that we failed instead of keeping on going down a path that will lead us to pain, ruin and out of the presence of God.
Hagar made a decision and, in the middle of the desert, the angel told her: Go back and submit to her. For Hagar, what was harder: staying in the desert without water or submitting to Sarah? Had she kept on acting on her own will, death awaited in the desert; but, if she obeyed God, there would be a great promise for her life and her descendants.
Let us accept it when we are wrong so the desert will not bury us. Let us understand that there always is a better way for the one who submits to the will of God. Never doubt about doing what God asks you, even when you do not agree, for there will always be profit.
