Only He knows the way for our purpose to be fulfilled

“Don’t hurt the boy or do anything to him,” he said. “Now I know that you honor and obey God, because you have not kept back your only son from him.” Genesis 22:12

Abraham had the privilege of talking to God and be called by his name because his purpose was to take him to his destiny. He could not leave him on his own, for it would have been impossible for him to fulfill it. In order for Abraham to fulfill the specific purpose on behalf of God, he needed to be guided by Him, so he would not wander one way or another. We see his story; he had to endure tough tests, which he would not have been able to bear, had God not been with him.

If we took Abraham’s place, when he had to give his son… It would be terrible and unbearable to know that you have to kill what you love most. Yet obedience as he learned it made him do it, no questions asked. That is why, at the moment of the sacrifice, God talked to him and said: “Do not lay your hand on the lad, for now I know that you fear God.”

Abraham had to be put to the test in order to fulfill his purpose: Father of multitudes. This teaches us that the greater the purpose the greater the tests we will have to pass. And, if Abraham conquered, we must believe that we will also conquer. We only have to see the attitude and the faithfulness Abraham showed when he obeyed, while he complied with everything that had been commanded to him. Let us obey God, for his plan is perfect and only He knows the way for our purpose to be fulfilled.
