But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. Acts 16:25-26
Paul and Silas were in prison, in chains, hopeless. And, instead of becoming depressed due to the situation they were going through, they started praising and glorifying God with all their hearts.
In moments of crisis, we tend to complain, grumble, criticize, judge and question Him. We do not praise or worship Him because our soul grieves and we forget what He has done for us. This powerful praise made the foundations of the jail be shaken and the doors and chains be broken.
No matter what you are going through, raise your voice to the heavens, tell Him how much you love Him and need Him. In just one moment, you will hear how everything shakes around you, while breaking the yokes and chains of oppression that bound you, because He dwells in the praise of his people and makes himself present to bless you. Praise Him…
