“Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. James 2:23
It is sad to see how many start praying with great enthusiasm, but little by little they fade, until a time comes when they no longer do it. Unfortunately, this happens day-to-day because the way in which we seek God is not appropriate. We think He has to answer us when we want; that He must give us everything we ask for. That is, the intention for us to seek Him is simply to ask from Him, and not to be his friends.
That is why few get to become friends. Since, attaining to this stature needs for us to change our mentality because we believed that we only ask Him and nothing else. He is looking for those joyful about having an intimate relationship, which only friends can achieve.
When this relationship exists, God gives us much more than what we need without having to ask; for He acknowledges an intention unlike that of others, but that of someone who has been able to assess true friendship, by being faithful and trusting in Him.
