So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. 2 Kings 5:14 <\/strong><\/p>\n

The hope of those who have no God is what they have and handle. God does not count. Their lives are based on what they know, and they depend on nobody but themselves; they get to believe that their skills are more than enough and regard themselves as perfect. Therefore, their pride is so great that they do not want to bow to anything, not even when they know that their only alternative is God. They prefer to remain the same.<\/p>\n

This happened to Naaman, a Chief of the army of the King of Aram. He was full of pride and vainglory because he was a person acknowledged for his bravery during war. Yet one day he became ill with leprosy and nothing could heal him but divine intervention.<\/p>\n

When Prophet Elisha told him to immerse himself 7 times in the Jordan, he refused to do so, because he did not want to break. But the man of God knew that this would be the only way for him to humble himself and acknowledge that he needed God and not his merits from war.<\/p>\n

Let us not allow pride to keep us from humbling ourselves before God, when we know that He is the only one who can help us in those moments of pain, despair, crisis, illness or death, which occur unexpectedly to us.<\/p>\n
