The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, The haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. Isaiah 2:11

Sometimes we think that we are mature enough and we give no importance to certain attitudes which are not really pleasing. They keep operating in us and they can make us fail, if not made right.

People are blinded and do not want to acknowledge their weaknesses, so they flatly refuse. Many times it is due to pride, which does not let us accept that which goes against our own concept, for the proud one believes he is better than others and that everything he does is right.

When we tell someone who is proud that what he does is not right, he takes it as a personal affront; he thinks that we tell him out of envy or jealousy. At no moment does he bow his head and acknowledge what is operating in him. The proud one may be in need but prefers to die than ask for help. His heart is full of loftiness; he does not know what humility is. That is why, as much as someone proud does the very best, God is not pleased.

If there is pride, let us give up on it, for sooner or later God will humiliate us and shame will be worse. He will take us where we did not want to go, we will have to do what we did not want; for He will teach us that Heaven is not earned by pride but humility.
