Our heart should be like that of a child, who enjoys and rejoices in everything

But Jesus called for them, saying, “Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Luke 18:16
If we remember our childhood, we see what an illusion it was for us when our parents promised to take us to the park or eat an ice cream. Those were unforgettable moments, and we wanted time to fly so that day would come and not be delayed any longer. From that moment on, what we talked about and thought of revolved around it. The funniest thing was telling our little friends about it. We liked to do it because we got more and more excited and, even before going, we felt that we were already at that place. It was so vivid in our minds that it was almost real.
How beautiful innocence is! It allowed us to experience those moments as something so great and unforgettable. They left such a mark in us that those will never be erased, for they filled us with happiness. And, in spite of years gone by, we like to remember them so we experience them all over again.
How great it would be if we would embrace each promise our Father has made us just the same way we did with each invitation from our parents. The Word teaches us that only children will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. When it tells us about this, it does not refer to the physical age but the condition of our heart, which should be like that of a child, who enjoys and rejoices in everything, and never underestimates anything, as small as it may be.
