Avoid the passions of youth, and strive for righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who with a pure heart call out to the Lord for help. 2 Timothy 2:22
It is necessary for us to grow strong in the Lord so that no temptation can make us fall. Often, we see with men and women of God who seemed to be firm, all of a sudden their lives are destroyed, thus losing their marriage, family, children, business and ministry.
That is why Paul encourages Timothy to flee from bad habits, sins and addictions; he induces him to pursue righteousness, love, peace, and faith. We must be aware of what we expose ourselves to, if we do not move away from such evil ways, for they enslave us and separate us from the presence of God.
The best way to flee from something that does no good to us is being with the right people, which are the ones with a clean heart. A clean heart is the one that wants to please the God at all times and sacrifices itself to stay pure. Let us show firm resistance, without fluctuation, and come close all together out of the same clean and pure heart.
