And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
How beautiful when our heart is humbled and acknowledges how great and mighty our God is, when we set ourselves to hand over our lives to Him completely and totally surrender to his will. But sometimes it costs us a lot to humble ourselves and understand that we need to strip all lack of forgiveness off ourselves in order to reach Him, for it is impossible for Him to listen to us and answer us if our heart has not forgiven.
It is not our place to decide who we are going to forgive. Forgiveness must be a permanent attitude of our heart towards everyone, no exceptions. No matter what has happened, we must always forgive.
It is not enough with sacrifice or offerings. God is pleased when we leave the past behind and decide to forget and reconcile with those who we once considered our enemies, to whom we were unable to say “I forgive you”.
The true love of Christ is demonstrated in us when we hold no resentment or pain, but rather when we rejoice as our lips say “Forgiveness”.
