For everyone who asks receives. Matthew 7:8
We think that we have absolute control over everything, but we do not. That is why few depend on God and seek Him in prayer. The one who prays is saying: I don’t have control, but You do. It is impossible to make a child quit drugs, the husband love us, our debt be paid. No matter how much money we have, how beautiful we look or how upright we are; none of this can make things change.
But the one who prays is saying: I can’t; I don’t know what to do, but I need something to be done because I am desperate and I know You have the power to do it. This power makes things change and be done how You want them. For prayer does not change the will of God; it makes us know and act on his will.
God opened the wombs of Hannah and Elizabeth, just as He broke the chains on Paul and Silas. They all prayed for a miracle and they saw it, for the one who prays gets used to seeing the manifestations of Heaven in his life.
Cast all your burdens on his shoulders, and wait for his answers, for He will move Heaven to meet your need and for you to know that the one who asks receives.
