I want to be one of those who keep their hope in their Savior

But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Matthew 14:30

Living in faith is not saying “I have faith”; living in faith is proving it day after day, minute by minute, second by second, fully trusting in God’s Word, not letting ourselves be carried away by that which we are experiencing.

Faith is not born overnight; it is cultivated with experiences we have daily. Therefore, for our faith to grow, it is necessary for us to live through adverse situations that we cannot control.

If we can handle them, it is not faith, for faith is to live trusting God. It is like closing our eyes while we drive, and knowing that we will not crash. It is not easy to have faith because we are accustomed to a natural world; since faith is confidence in what we do not see but we know that it is. Every day we see how close people claiming to have faith suddenly are desperate, distressed and fearful. Then we wonder “Where is their faith?”

But this should not come as a surprise, for Jesus had to experience this even with his disciples. That is why we cannot be satisfied with saying “I have faith”, but say “Lord, increase my faith. I don’t want to be one of those who doubt in difficult times. On the contrary, I want to be one of those who keep their hope in their Savior.”
