As water reflects the face, so one’s life reflects the heart. Proverbs 27:19
God knows our heart, but He waits patiently in his infinite mercy for a change to take place, so He can fully trust in us and give us what is rightfully ours, forever.
God knew the heart of Saul. He knew his intentions and what he was capable of, but, in spite of it all, He gave him a chance and chose him as king. Though He did not anoint him with the horn, He anointed him and he was king. In time, Saul showed his true heart: He disobeyed God. This made the Lord turn away from his side forever; it made him lose his reign and God chose David as king.
Our heart has to be uncovered before his presence so we can be free from evil, selfishness and envy, which lead us to disobey God and the authorities imposed by Him.
Trusting that we are serving in his work, that He uses us and that we have anointing, it does not guarantee that our heart is healed. He is giving us time to realize what is operating in us, for us to hate it and repent. Then, He will live with us forever and never take away what He has given us.
