Don’t you understand yet? Don’t you remember when I broke the five loaves for the five thousand men? How many baskets did you fill? Matthew 16:9
So easy for us to forget what God has done! This seems to have no explanation, for the way God has manifested, that calls for us to keep Him in mind and never be erased from it.
But this should come as no surprise, for Jesus had to experience this even with his disciples. When they crossed to the other side of the lake, they forgot to bring bread, and they did not remember that the One who had fed five thousand with just five loaves was with them. Just like the Disciples, we are more aware of that which we lack than the One who gives it to us.
That is why we must open our spiritual eyes so we can believe, for the one who believes does not forget. They saw with their eyes, but not spiritual eyes, those that show us the dimension in which He moves; that no matter what happens, we only need to know that God will answer just as He has always done.
