One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. Luke 6:12

Sometimes we ask ourselves “Why pray?” We find the answer in Jesus, who showed a life of nonstop prayer. He stood firm on it despite the circumstances to which He found himself exposed. He did not settle for praying a short time. On the contrary, He spent all night praying to his Father, going up the mountainside to meet Him alone.

Jesus won many battles, all because He did not turn away from the presence of God. Sometimes we do not understand the need to pray; we pray when we drive, when we are at home, while working, etc. All this is called living a life in communion, but that which really dignifies us before Him is for us to set a time apart every day and go up the mountainside to receive his teachings.

We must know that the more hours we spend with God, the less time we will have to spend with man, for during that time all things are revealed to us, those we need to know so we can face and overcome our enemy.

His life of prayer should be an example to be imitated by all of us who are called followers of Christ because the leader shows a model for others to follow. All the gospels recount his life of prayer, which establishes that the battle is won when there is incense that rises to his Presence, for the one who prays attains backup from Heaven.
