And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Mark 10:47
We cannot be so passive in God’s ways. On the contrary, we have to be full of boldness, and dare do whatever it takes in order to draw the attention of Jesus. As did blind Bartimaeus, who was on the roadside and, when he learned that Jesus was there, he raised his voice so that He could see him. It made Jesus notice him and, even when people told him to shut up, he shouted louder, regardless what others thought. He knew that only Jesus could do the miracle.
This teaches us that we must be like Bartimaeus and forget what others may think or not. For, if we act by what they say, we would never dare do something that casts doubt on our reputation.
For this reason, we must be brave and, if someone wants to stop us, we have to ignore them. On the contrary, we must demonstrate that we are willing to do anything for Jesus to see our need and intervene immediately; for Him to deliver us from yokes which bind us.
