Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. Psalms 25:1
Our soul is the hardest one to discipline; it never wants to. She desires everything that our spirit does not want; it makes our emotions and thoughts conditional to it until we become prisoners.
We cannot allow it to dominate us and take control, thus annulling our spiritual life until it makes us run dry and become barren. We must take authority and make it subject to our spirit so it will always be willing to obey. Just like Deborah gave an order to her soul when she was at war, and she said to it: “March on, my soul; be strong!”
Let us hand it over to the Lord for Him to govern over all things so we can enjoy a life full of the spirit: praising, dancing, praying and fasting, with joy, happiness and elation every day. In each war there will be a victory for a soul that does not give up, but acts on the voice of the spirit.
