Does this sound as if I am trying to win human approval? No indeed! What I want is God’s approval! Am I trying to be popular with people? If I were still trying to do so, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10
So many things we do or say to stay on good terms with others regardless of whether this is right or wrong! At such moments, our principles count for nothing; we only want to please the friend, the spouse or the brethren, to be accepted by them. When we consent to all those things, we reflect that we have no identity, that we do not value ourselves and that we have a very low esteem.
We must not seek acceptance in men but in God. That is why we should not compromise our confession of faith, which we made before Him and witnesses, declaring that He is our Lord and Savior, and that our life is His.
Let us stand firm, not wanting to please anybody but God. Let us follow the example of Christ, who remained faithful until the end in order to have his incorruptible crown, which nobody could give Him but his Father who is in the heavens.
