But even though he was God’s Son, he learned through his sufferings to be obedient. When he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him. Hebrews 5:8-9

As parents, who does not like their children to be obedient? There is no need to think about it, for we would all like our children to follow our advice, not out obligation but out of conviction that it is the best. Just as we feel when we see that they do not follow our advice and teachings, God is saddened to see us doing our will and not His, while we know the consequences resulted from such actions.

Jesus, the Son of God, gave us an example by not doing what He wanted. He did not even try to; He simply accepted what the Father wanted Him to do, and did it voluntarily.

Facts speak because He went the way of the cross out of obedience; He achieved resurrection, which was God’s will. That is why obedience leads us to the cross, where we must surrender everything that competes against his will and makes us be disobedient. Thus, we miss out on promises for not accepting what He wants for us.
