So He himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed. Luke 5:16
When we deal with the subject of prayer and why we do not pray the way He commands us to, immediately all arguments come up: “I would like to, but I have no time”, “It is just that I am too tired when I arrive”, “I don’t know how to pray”, etc. Each one of those makes us understand that prayer is not a value in those lives; that is why they make no effort to accomplish that purpose.
Prayer must be a priority because it is the way for the heavens to open and for us to realize whether we please Him with what we do, if it is his will. Everything we do without having a life of prayer turns into something cold and dead, for we do it on our own. Even if we have the best intentions, it is not the way that pleases Him, for we become independent without realizing it. When this happens, everything we do goes to satisfying ourselves.
Our life of prayer cannot be traded for anything; not for work, children, spouse or obligations; for it is prayer that gives us the certainty that his eyes will not turn away from us and that everything will be backed by Him.
Let us take time every day, by ourselves, with no interruptions. Tell Him all the things He needs to know, express your love to Him, show Him your heart; for He will come over you and give you all his love, just the same way.
