“Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.”
And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” Genesis 15:5
A pregnancy brings much joy and awakens in us a yearning for seeing the baby, take him (her) into our arms and express our love, making those moments unforgettable and lasting for a lifetime.
Not a single day has gone by from the birth when we already have plans about him smiling; saying “Mom”, Dad”; the celebration of the first birthday; the first day at school, the graduation, the engagement and the wedding. Immediately after being born, his life is in our mind already. Without realizing it, we want time to go fast, so we can see those events which motivate us and drive us to keep going. We pay special attention so that he has a healthy growth and all his needs are met. We want him to have what we did not have and always be able to give him the best.
Just the same way, God gets us pregnant with his plans, by placing a seed inside of us, which will sprout. Thus, He will be glorified. God, as our Father, has expectations and waits for us to yearn for that birth. But reality is quite different, for we do not value the spiritual pregnancy and let it die without considering it important. He makes us pregnant so we go conquer the nations, preach his Word, heal the sick, do exploits and demonstrate his power. That is why He needs a womb to make his dreams come true.
God talked to Abraham and said to him: “Look toward the heavens, and count the stars, for so shall your descendants be and you will be father of multitudes.” He waited 25 years believing it would possible, so today we are part of that promise sown in the heart of a man of faith full of obedience. Do not abort what God has put in you; take care of it, protect it until you see it born.
